"Now who said war ain't fun?"
It's not like the Call of Duty series has not always been popular. After Treyarch's disappointing Call of Duty 3, which had to meet up to lofty expectations after Infinity Ward's Call of Duty 2, fans felt heartbroken and betrayed. Now, in 2007, fans couldn't have been more happier. Infinity Ward returns to not just make a great sequel, but to make one of the most deepest and greatest FPS games of all time. Shifting from the WW2 era, CoD4 thrusts players into the heart of a modern-time war. Modern Warfare features what most FPS games ignore, an engrossing and deep story, albeit a very short one. Critics were quick to point out its small campaign, its inconsistent graphics, and its many glitches. However, when it came to its multiplayer, critics couldn't stop giving praise. From what is called to as the greatest online component of any game ever made, to being just balls-out fun, CoD4's greatest value lies in its multiplayer. Having a ranking and rewards system unmatched by any game out there, featuring gameplay mechanics that just make any match fun,and containing a short but deep campaign, it's no wonder why CoD4 is one of the best-selling games of all time.

"Who else do you know of that can walk on flames?"
Behold, the Wii's biggest killer-ap. Being universally acclaimed by almost every critic as being accessible to almost every audience, Mario's latest adventure strikes gold for Nintendo. As in other Mario games, the story revolves around the iconic Italian rescuing Princess Peach from the evil Bowser. Sounds childish and repetitive, right? Well, in Mario's new adventure, entirely new gameplay mechanics make this not just a brand new Mario adventure, but an excellent one as well. Accessible fun for all ages, Mario's gravity-defying, planetary hopping search of the Princess wins him an incredible 2nd Place, with awards from such behemoth giants as IGN, Gamespot, PALGN, and many more. While many hardcore gamers might not be lured into the casual fun of Super Mario Galaxy, we urge all other gamers to indulge in this marvelous gem.

"In underwater Rapture, little girls drive you!"
Bioshock is the king of 2007, without a doubt in the minds of critics. Rarely do we ever see such a game, where all its elements of story, atmosphere, characterization, and gameplay add up to make such a perfect story experience that it will be revered for years to come. From the makers of System Shock 2, also a revered classic, Bioshock is another masterpiece from 2K Games. Set in an alternate timeline, where in the 1950s a man by the name of Andrew Ryan built an underwater city called "Rapture". He envisioned it to be a hub of scientific and engineering prowess, not confined by the laws and petty morality of the surface. His utopia soon spun out of control as the gene modifications he created turned the inhabitants of Rapture into insane, murderous super-humans. It is in this city your character arrives after his plane crashes in the middle of the Atlantic. Arriving in Rapture, every minute is a struggle to survive as you unlock the mysteries of the fallen dystopia. Featuring extremely clever AIs, genetic modification allowing you to turn your own body into a weapon, a well-designed and extremely well executed story, and unforgettable characters, Bioshock is the experience you will still be talking about for years to come.
